Now Available: Images from American Folk Art Museum

Palomar faculty and students now have access to more than 1,600 images featuring traditional folk art and works by contemporary self-taught artists held by the American Folk Art Museum.  Works from the museum's permanent collection are now available for viewing in Artstor. The images are of American and international artists' work from the 18th century to the present in a variety of media such as paintings, books on paper, sculpture, trade figures, signs, weathervanes, furniture, ceramics, needleworks, rugs, quilts, and coverlets.  Click here for more information.

Have a Heart, Lend a Hand Bulletin

Campaign Extended:  Have a Heart, Lend a Hand, our campaign to raise awareness of the campus food pantry, will continue accepting donations through February, ending on the 28th.   
Special Thanks:  To everyone who has helped make this campaign possible, including the staff of the libraries' public desks, Anne Stephan, Kelly Patrick, PJ Trujillo, Ava  Davis, Pat Wade, and  Library Department Chair, Linda Morrow.  A special thanks to donors Dean Judy Cater, Professor Bob Aidee, Professor John Valedez, and the staff of Three C's, as well as Marily Lunde for her coordinating efforts.  And thank you to the Palomar Community for your sustained involvement in this cause to make your food pantry a viable campus resource!

Have a Heart, Lend a Hand

Join us at the Palomar College Library as we campaign to help fill the campus food pantry.   From Jan. 31- Feb. 14, 2011 you can get involved AND enter to win a chance at a prize!  Please bring a donation of food, hygiene items, or disposable diapers to the library.  You will then be eligible to win a gift card, our first place prize in the food drive contest.  All you have to do is guess how many pieces of candy are in the candy jar.  If you guess the number closest to the actual amount, you win!
To enter: bring a donation to the library, take an entry for your guess and fill it out, and place your entry in the box.  Enter as often as you like; however, a donation is required for each entry. 
The winner will be announced on February 14th.
Thank you for getting involved by helping us help those in need!
